Meet Bowan (Bo), a smart, funny, and very independent, little fighter that has been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since his diagnosis mere weeks after his 3rd birthday; after a slew of seemly random fevers were accompanied by leg pain and appetite loss. After his diagnosis, Bo spent 9 days at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin where doctors began creating treatment plans. In the past two years Bo has endured 650 doses of oral chemo, 200 doses of steroids, 46 doses of intravenous chemo, 16 spinal taps, 6 blood transfusions, 2 bone marrow biopsies, and 3 inpatient stays. Despite all of this medical intervention, Bo has continued to bloom into an extraordinary tiny human that loves all things sports, and his big brother Leo.
As the Miles family looks towards the future they acknowledge that the remaining 11 months of Bo’s treatment will not be easy, but know that with the support of #boknowsbrave team they’ll make it through.
